I recently found this awesome message about how to deal with stress. Stress is not what kills you. It is the fear or worry that causes ill effects. If you view stress as normal then your body adjusts to stress effectively. Oh and hugs are good for your health.

Don't let stress get the best of you

I deal with stress constantly & TBH I prefer stress as long as it's NOT invented stress.

This is huge. I work with a few people that make mountains out of mole hills. It's so sad to see how worked up and kooky someone can get over little things no one else cares about.

The past few months at work were brutal but things have gotten better and I can tell it. Usually takes me 3 or 4 days to wind down when I get home. It's still a high stress job on a daily basis.

I'm a worrier by nature. Get it from my dad. And I don't always handle stress very well. It's why I'm not an ER or ICU nurse...not an adrenaline junkie and the amount of stress they deal with every day at work would burn me out quickly.

Weed + scotch + bluegrass music + my back porch + my dog laying at my feet = stress gone

I don't handle stress well. When things get bad I shut down. I can't eat or sleep. Exercise and meditation helps some.

FWIW, the weed and scotch part just helps with your perception of the stress. The biological/mental effects are still there, the drugs just numb your perception of the stress.

Porch and dog part....I'm all about that
