I was wondering this when I was trying to remember the last time I bought a CD. I used to get one every week no matter what, almost like a ritual. Same thing with DVDs. I used to have shelf after shelf stocked with DVDs and CDS.

It's odd now, as all those DVDs sit in the attic, ditto with the CDs, it's just easier to play a song on the computer or phone than find the cd. Same goes with many movies.

A lot of people I know rarely buy movies or albums anymore and download everything. Seems like the days of everyone having their collections displayed are long gone.

Stopped buying dvd's a long time ago because I hardly rewatch movies. Love having it on a hard drive now.

I still have some from the 1990s. Only bad thing is they take up a lot of space.

I still buy cd's occasionally if I'm at a concert or something, and they have a booth. But yeah, I do miss it a little bit. I had a weird pride about buying my music collection and organizing it. Now even buying MP3's is pretty much obsolete. I spent a lot of time and a fair amount of money putting together a music library, and all you really need anymore is Spotify. There are only the few odd things or obscure albums that it's even worth owning copies of anymore, either hard or digital.

Don't miss buying DVD's much, but I buy vinyl albums and it's very enjoyable, the whole process

Albums are cool but before my time.

I do not miss CDs or DVDs. All that plastic. Mine always ended cracked, gross, scratched, and/or lost.

I don't miss CD's because they inevitably got scratched up.

While DVD's can have the same issue, I still buy them for ease of use.

They were a lot of fun. It's too bad kids growing up now won't get to play a 33 on 78.

I still buy blu ray. I enjoy the ritual of opening the case, firing everything up in the media room and putting the disc in.

I miss buying physical bluray discs because digital video offered right now is not even close to the same quality

Yes I miss them, nothing was better than jacking a CaseLogic full of 300 CDs from a house party!

I completely transitioned away from tangible audio about four years ago. The huge bulk of my music was already software, so I just burned my 80 or so CDs and left them at my parents'. I still buy DVDs and Blu-rays and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 800. Probably have about 200 on my computer (the vast Majority are digital downloads that came with the physical movies, but I downloaded some others while all my shite was in storage for my first 10 months back in the states.

I miss going to a Blockbuster on a Friday night and picking out 3-4 movies for the weekend. Oldies and newbies. Miss browsing. Same in CD music stores.

This, I miss video stores. I have no problem keeping up with new releases. I just miss browsing and looking at the box cover and the back panel to see if I may want to see the movie or not. It was fun.

Just be sure to rewind or pay an extra $1. lol

The death of video stores just eliminated another weekend activity.

It was always something to do when there was 'nothing else going on'. We live in a world where convenience has trumped all.
