Yes although not enough. I'd rather donate time than money and don't often give money because i'm skeptical of how it's spent unless it's a proven cause like st jude's

Money, not enough time. I should prioritize more.

Little of both here and there. More time than money of late. Did a half day at a food bank a month or so ago. Doing a few hours filling backpacks with donated school supplies for needy kids next week.

Precisely why I don't financially support charities. I can audit my time.

Yeah, I'm giving large chunks for others to sit on their arse while I'm busting mine.

You do realize there are non-profits out there doing great work? The good ones are willing to share their financial information at anytime.

on the board of the local Boys and Girls club. donate some money and time. it's a good local group, and I highly recommend donating and/or volunteering for local charities versus the big ones that blow money on laviwsh expenses.

I tried to do it before, but why don't we start a charity. Total oversite, all spending wide open and easy to see, plus we could use it to help our tax burdens.

There are a lot of us here, and were almost all good people who want to help in someway, but feel jaded by current charities.

I mean through our myriad of business connections we could do a lot of good for our communities.

We could directly help certain groups or have charities of the month, we could share what we did and it would all be transparent.
I think it's a great idea and starting a 501c isn't hard.

Probably more than that if you figure all taxes

Fed income
State income
Social security
Medicare
Sales
Property
Phone cable power
Vehicle registration

Ever pay attention to sales tax on a hotel room? Crazy
