re: Do you believe the founding fathers would be happy with the way the USA is today

Some of the founding fathers were okay with slavery. So no, their opinion of what the modern day USA should look like doesn't mean anything. Humanity, culture, people etc. have all evolved.

Can anyone explain to me why I should be worried that the founding father's might disapprove of our morality?
Many of them completely agreed with slavery, denied women the right to vote and own property, while having marital affairs with their slaves.
I'm struggling to see their moral high ground.

I think at first glance, they would be awed by America's power in the world, our immense size, population, technology, ect. They would be impressed that women own property, that all citizens over 18 can vote, and that slavery was ended. Then, they would be appalled that people who don't pay taxes are allowed to vote, that we have a massive standing army in peacetime with no militia to speak of, civil forfeiture, that our federal government is deciding things like gay marriage, domestic spying, subsidies for farmers, the federal reserve, ect. They would be deeply saddened that we had ignored so many of their warnings and allowed the federal government to take away so much power from the states and to rob us of our freedoms.

Your thoughts?
IMHO, they would be horrified at the expansion of FedGov's functions and authority. They would be shocked at the progress in social issues, but, not enough to want to make changes. They would be unhappy with the Supreme Court's role in making legislative changes, and might advocate a roll-back of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
They would advocate sustained action with regard to returning FedGov on the path to reduced function and authority -- something closer to what they bequeathed to us, rather than this Leviathan that controls our toilet-flushers, CO2 emissions (which we exhale with our breath), Cars for Clunkers and the like.

If the Founding Fathers could see what we've become, they'd have just said frick and stuck with ole King George.
I agree with this -- some of them, not all of them.

They would call for immediate revolution and burn K street and wall street to the ground.

No. They would say we left them behind in the mid 1800s

I think morality that this is where our founding fathers would have the most objections. Your thoughts?
For the most part, I think this is a really dumb thing to say and a really dumb thing to worry about.
If I had to guess I'd say the founding fathers would be pleased that the US is still around and such a prominent nation, but they probably wouldn't care for our interventionist and imperialist tendencies.
As for morals, well they were mostly slave owners and philanderers... they really wouldn't have nearly as much love the Christian right as you might want to think, but they still might take issue with the way homosexuality is tolerated and women and black people are considered equal under the law, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. They weren't exactly the models of morality and "honor" (lol) that you seem to want them to be.

Mostly this. Plus they would be saddened that apparently many people think that liberty and freedom mean "a free ride".
