I disagree. Most of these men were visionaries and I think given the time they probably would have predicted this over 150 years ago. The amendments to the Constitution and bill of rights were used to establish a new country and give it guidelines. Unlike the bible these documents could be added to and I mean interpretated differently for some later reasons.

The most prosperous country in the nation with a vibrant economy, diverse culture and educated middle class. Not to mention the strongest armed forces. We have our social issues but every country worth a shite does. All that with a side of freedom fries.

Dumbest thing I will read today. Just because I want to focus on the now and not dwell on the hypothetical thoughts of the dead does not make many any less of a patriot. And then jumping to the question of whether or not I like the troops? Again...dumbest thing I will read all day.

I think they actually would be happy despite obviously being baffled in the way our country, along with every nation in the world has changed. When America was founded it was a pure experiment. Despite optimism, no one really knew if it could work long term. On several occasions the whole thing nearly collapsed. Today it is by far the most powerful and prestigious nation on earth. We rival the ancient citizens of Rome in terms of the status that comes with our nationality. There is no other nation on earth that can come close to the combination of wealth and liberty our nation offers. I believe the founders would understand that change was inevitable to respond to such a drastically changing world.
