Do People Think the World Will Really Come to an End Soon?

You always hear people say "the world is coming to an end", especially when they are talking about a tragic event. Is this just a saying or do people really believe this?

It is very much a real belief. Many Christians tend to interpret nearly any set of circumstances as "end times".

I'm 53... The world was supposed to come to an end at least 5 times while I've been alive...

The difference between now and all the false predictions of the past is computers.

After seeing everything that has happened this past month. It really wouldn't take much for everything to come tumbling down and people are just not equiped to handle it..

Alot of bible prophecies have been coming true. And this world has had a fallen away from God. So yeah, I believe it's coming soon.

Daniel was speaking of the destruction of the temple in 70ad... so yes we have been in the end times for 2000yrs.
Jesus in Mathews gospel was speaking of the destruction of the temple which was coming "soon" and a separate event with His return(which is the final defeat of satan )... I don't think that will happen this year. Israel will be led falsely then converted when the 2 prophets that don't die Enoch and Elijah appear. But with the Facebook and such that could happen quicker than I think
