Do Most People Hide Who They Really Are?

I am watching "Mindhunters" and this question came to mind.
Do you think we all "wear a mask"? As in, everyone has something about them they don't want people to know?
Personally, I think I am pretty up front with who I am. I can be who I need to be in certain situations.. I can bullshite when I need to, but I don't have any type of weird creepy fricking fetish or something.
I am just throwing this out for conversation.

I wouldn't say I 'hide' who I really am, but I know stuff that I do that other people find weird and I don't do it around them.
Like I was a collegiate athlete and everything and that came and still does come with a bit of a stereotype even though I'm 27 now. But I like video games and stuff like anime (Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, etc).
My roommates for example know I like that shite, so does my gf, but I know it annoys them when I do that shite all day and stuff like that so I don't do it around them.
I'm essentially a nerd and I guess a lot of people wouldn't think that at first thought after meeting me and I also don't broadcast it to everyone if I'm somewhere in public or anything like that. But if someone asks it's not like I'm ashamed to tell them about it.

I use to like to take credit for my altars and I would reveal who I was if I didn't get banned first.
If it was a prank call... I am the type of person who will mess with someone for a few minutes then start laughing and eventually tell people who I am..

You only see a small aspect of everyone that you know. It isn't a "mask." Most people aren't really hiding anything. You just never actually get to truly know pretty much anyone, even the people with whom you are closest. The true you, at the center, that only you know will always be isolated and hidden. This is the same for everybody. There will always be a side to the people in your life that could surprise you, that you know nothing about.
