Do any large La. cities have volunteer fire companies (as in NYC)?

I learned today that NYC has nine volunteer fire companies: "The nine Volunteer Fire Departments are a supplement to the FDNY, however they have proven essential at particular incidents and during certain times. Such as during storms when flooding conditions prevented FDNY Companies from reaching alarms or with a delayed response."
Does NOLA have any? It certainly has some flooding issues that might block off fire trucks.

My cousin is a volunteer fireman in St. Rose near Destrahan. Not sure if this is what you are speaking of though.

I think Terrytown would be closer to the NYC example. St. Rose is similar, however, since it is a census designated place (as it Terrytown).

I think he is talking of big towns that have volunteer firemen to supplement the paid ones

Livingston Parish has multiple Volunteer Fire Districts.
For example District 5 is Denham Springs and District 4 is the Watson area.

The entire fire department in St. Charles Parish is volunteer. I think the OP is wondering more if there are volunteer companies in cities in which firefighting can be pursued as a full-time profession.

West part of Metairie used to have Third District VFD, not sure if they still do. As a kid they used to drive around all the neighborhood kids on certain holidays.

The Shining Metropolis of St. Amant has a volunteer fire department with their own water truck! (Morans included)

The only volunteer station in New Orleans is near Fort Pike.
