I opened a friend of mines yesterday with the key to my truck box. This can't be a coincidence right?

On really cheap barrel locks, you can have tumblers that will accept many keys that are just close.

Look at your key next to his.

IF it is like office furniture there are only so many series of key/lock combination they have. Definitely no way all keyed differently

I just bought one and in the instructions there's a form to order additional keys. The particular brand I bought has 10 different keys.

Get a key to any piece of Caterpillar equipment. Drive almost any Caterpillar piece of equipment. They all come with the same key. Some people change them out, but most don't

Travel trailers are the same way. One key will open many different brands. If you have a camper or fifth wheel and have not changed the locks, I strongly suggest you do so. Same with the storage compartments.

I bought a replacement key online. The cylinder has a number on it and you can get a key to fit from a small list of key numbers. So, no they don't all fit every box but there is a pretty good chance a single key will open several others.

If you ever lock your keys in your camper at the campground, knock on your neighbors door and get their key

90% chance it will work

Wonder about vehicles also.
I have a '99 Dodge Ram. A guy I work with has a year older or younger model . He locked his keys in his truck and asked to borrow my keys that by some chance it would open his truck . And sure enough it opened. Has to be they are only a certain number of keys.

My push to start Key will only alert my car when looking for it in the parking lot.

Something I've learned about push to start cars, if the battery in the key dies, open the glove box and push your finger in a square (where the dead battery key is intended to be inserted) wait for it to click and you can drive the car without a key.
