or Do Only Liars Fish?

I never do and people think I'm weird because of it.

I only lie when I post on the outboard.

quote:Lie. I always say exactly what I caught, and I used to weigh everything I got on an electronic scale, so I got really good at estimating weight.
Lie or fish or both?

Them: how long you gonna be gone fishing?
Us: about 2 or 3 hours.
5 hours later we're on the phone lying and bullshitting about why we're late and when we're returning! For odd reasons folks do exaggerate their catch and all fisherman lie about non-success here and there.

Deuteronomy 24:32- "And if any man should lie with a fish, both he and the fish shall be stoned."

Stretch the truth sure but deer hunters embellishing their tales of what they saw (without having a shot) takes the cake!
Now recently a local deer hunter who somehow gets more than his share of really good deer posted a pic of him raising the head of a big buck with the pic date and time showing a 12:15 am. Claims he shot it right before dark at 7 pm. A deer will firm up in 1 -2 hours so we think he shot it maybe an hour or so before the pic at
11:00 pm via flashlight over corn. In his succession of pics taken from the bed of his truck, the neck and legs were as limber as a fresh kill. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

quote:I think a lot of it is just bad estimations of weight. A 3 lb. bass is a lot more fish than some people seem to realize. I've seen 2 1/2 pounders called 8 pounders, but the people really believed it.

Short answer, yes. That is why I don't fish. I'd rather be an honest man, not an unprincipled man.

Better not play poker. They might lie worse.
