DNA connects suspect to multiple home invasions in Baton Rouge

I know a lady whos mother he attempted to attack 2 weeks ago, that was not reported as a home invasion. She called the police because he had taken his gloves off and threw a piece of a lawnmower at her to try to stop her so he could attack and the police came out and took fingerprints from that item. It was on the downlow so she would be protected why they investigated that invasion.
ETA: I would gather this is how they got the DNA as a match for this guy.
