Does anyone have any tips on how to get in for the Free Disney Dining Plan on the first day of the promotion launch? I've been trying to get through and all I get on the phone is a busy signal and a down server message on the website.

Do you have to be in a Disney resort? I'll be there in a few months but won't be staying at a connect Disney resort..

In the past, free dining always required a resort package at rack rate and at least 3 days of admission media.

You will have to call Disney travel and upgrade to a package.

If you had booked a room only, you will have to pay upfront before you go (package rules), vs. 1 nights deposit and pay when you get there.

If you don't eat like fools, you'll likely save money with keeping it all separate from the discounted room and tickets from undercover tourist or similar.

Since you're at a cheap resort, you can only get the snack & 2 counter service meals a day. You'll have to upgrade to a mid-level resort to get a sit down meal, counter service and snack per day.

It's called Disney math: Spend more to save more.

Is this akin to the wait to get Saints season ticks?

Sweet. Pre Islands of Adventure, they would have happy hours there, back in the day on all alcohol to make you forget about Epcot.

It worked every time.
