think open carry is kinda weird and attention whoreish, but they're probably the last people you need to be concerned about.

Agreed. The white male with a clean haircut, shaven, khakis, and a Polo although carrying a weapon probably isn't a threat. Jamal with his pants at his ankles and his hipoint stuck in his belt covered by his XXXXL shirt probably is.

Why live with that kind of fear in your daily life? I carry if I know I am going into an environment where I am relatively likely to encounter danger. Broad daylight at the fricking splash pad is not one of those situations in my mind.

I always leave my house prepared for the worst. When you least expect contact that is when it will happen.

You are making valid points and explains how you would act in certain situations. However the law is the law is the law. We in Louisiana have the right to open carry anywhere unless forbidden by proper signage of Firearm Free Zones. I get that people not use to guns get nervous but that's all there entitled too, their own nervousness.

Question why he would carry open in a park and your opinions don't change that it's his right.

You're a bitch. It's his right to OC. I either CC or OC a minimum of 2 firearms at all times. Doesn't matter if it's a park or a hospital the law allows me to CC or OC there I'm preserving my right.

Your type of shite stirring is quite possibly as annoying as your hated SJW/BLM, et al...

Use common sense or you run the risk of creating the folks that keep on fighting to scale back your "rights".

Escorting him out was the wrong move. But based on what you said, the chances are high that the fat bitch called 911 and misspoke the situation. In that case, all you can do is let the situation play out.

I moved as soon as I finished Grad school. Haven't been back since 2003, except for once. I had to go to Pinecrest for a work meeting.

Completely agree with all that. The land whale SJW and the cops were in the wrong no question. Glad the situation was diffused without any physical harm to any parties involved.

That's the scary thing. The cops show up thinking they have a situation where a citizen is being threatened by an armed individual in a public place. An annoying situation could have turned into a tragic situation real quick.

I get how it comes across, but damn dude it's his right. Your line of thinking is what has led to the shrinking of a lot of our rights. I bet there are a lot of parents who wished there had been open carrying by adults in all those school shootings, or in that office building in San Bernadino or in Paris.

There a tons of rights that you have that you don't need to constantly exercise. It's called using discretion.

How many times have you used your gun in self defense?

If you fail to exercise your right they begin to erode.

Meh, if it's your rights, it's your discretion to use them as you see fit. He was in a open carry park with no gun restrictions, at the very least the police should be knowledgeable about the situation.

I love how people say you should use your rights like this or only excercise your rights when everyone is comfortable with it.
