DirecTV angle and direction?

Anyone know which direction and at what elevation the satellite dish needs to be?
For instance, I think it's a "SW" direction, but at what angle towards the SW sky does the dish need to be pointed?
I'm trying to determine if I have a conducive view of the sky...
TIA.

Don't know how much it helps, but I've always heard it needs to point towards Texas. I just looked at mine and it appears to be pointed toward southern Texas. That'll give you a general idea to see if you'll have problems with trees or another building blocking it.

Depends upon where you at. Do a google search for you zip code.

Is there something on the Dvr that shows the signal strength on the television as you move it around?

Yes but only if you have it pointed close to the correct direction and angle.

Off subject but since there are Direct TV subscribers on here I though I'd ask. Does Direct TV offer the SEC Network?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Get good signal on the 101 satellite first the fine tune the other sats.
Settings>Sat & Antenna>View Signal Strength>Signal Meters

There's also dish pointing info in your receiver
You'll have to enter your dish type and zip code.
Some different satellite dishes have different aiming targets. If it's an HD dish, it's tricky

The key to aiming the dish is to get the mounting pole absolutely plumb.
