To all those people who think the satellite goes out when a cloud goes overhead

My signal didn't go out once this weekend. Didn't miss the LSU game, didn't miss the Saints.

Don't like this post?

I just go with whatever is cheaper. Fanboys between one or the other are just as stupid as Apple/Everything else , PlayStation/Xbox and on and on.

I just recently change from Cable to Direct Tv. My only issue with it is the delay from changing channels. During football season I flip between plays on some games. With cable I could do it instantly with no issues. On direct tv there is a couple second delay and it really fricks with me.

I would switch back and forth but I swore never to give Comcast one more penny of my money. Ever.

I had Dish Network. Now I have Direct TV.

Direct TV is a a joke. My signal is out as I type this. When I had Dish Network, it had to be a monsoon for me to loose signal. A little more than a light shower puts Direct TV on the fritz. It's beyond fricking aggravating.

Direct TV here
TV was off and on all afternoon yesterday. Had to leave to watch LSU.
TV has been useless all day today.
F Direct TV in my area. A couple of my friends all have the same issue at the same times.

Left Comcast for Direct years ago and have no regrets. There is the delay in switching channels, and I had some weather interruption yesterday, but it's been good today despite constant rain. It's not like cable never goes out. Ours sure as hell did.

When direct was disrupted yesterday, it was often just certain channels. Like SEC channel was frizzed, but networks and the Espns were clear as a bell. Not sure how that works.

Use double play to switch back and forth between 2 games. If you have a Genie use the picture in picture (PIP) feature.

Mine has been fine in Metairie all day. My parent's was sporadic, and that's only about 7 miles away. They do live on the lake, so wind might've been a factor, but I don't have that many problems with mine. Yeah it goes out, but not that much

My dad hasn't ever lost DirectTV reception...even during hurricanes and tropical storms. It all comes down to the installer

We switched a few months ago to directv and couldn't be happier. The installer said losing the signal doesn't happen all that much in the more populated areas if your dish is set up with a signal strength of 98% or more. I've been sitting in Algiers all day and we haven't even seen as much as a pixelation. It's worked flawlessly in this shitty weather.

I have had both and there is not really a damn bit of difference between the two, IMO....

if satellite is adjusted properly, it will stay on even in a monsoon...

best bet is to pick through the packages offered and sign up for the one you like the best.

In a perfect world I would like to pay a flat fee for an Internet provider with a flat fee. Then I'd like to pay for everything I wanted per month like HBO Go, Showtime Anytime, etc... It sucks you still have to bundle shite with your cable provider to get the premium on-demand channels.
