I took it years ago. Never had a problem with it other than it being new at the time and expensive. Now, I eat right and exercise and have no need for BP meds.

Diovan HCT...Valsartan.....lowest dosage though

Just stopped taking mine after dropping 25 lbs and pressure hit 70/113.

Made me piss like a race horse. Have to watch dehydration.

That's the HTC part...

Mine (Ziac and Hyzaar) do the same thing. The more salty food I eat, the more I have to go. I do love my salted dry roast peanuts, though. And popcorn.

Yes, the hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that is intended to make you piss to reduce fluid volume. The diovan is an ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker). Typically the side-effects from ARBs are very mild (headache, tiredness) and dissipate with continued use.

I am on Diovan, 6-6" , 280 lbs. Key for me is consistency, if I take like I am supposed to I do really well on it. If I forget to take it for a couple days then when I start back I have tiredness until I get regulated again. My 2-cents worth.
