I know Fort Worth has the stockyards, but does Dallas have more bars or things to do on a Friday? I've heard uptown Dallas was good? Appreciate the help and am open to recommendations

Stayed at the DoubleTree (downtown?) last weekend in Dallas. Nice enough and has a comedy club. Seemed to be close to really cool areas.

I work in Dallas a good bit and typically stay at the Hilton at Lincoln Center (Tollway and 635)....located near the galleria and not too far from belt line where there is some food...not sure about bars in the area, as I am usually there on weekdays and don't deal with hangovers at work...

if you decide on that hotel let me know, as I can get you an unbelievable weekend rate there...

My buddy just stayed at the Indigo in Deep Ellem. Pecan Lodge for Lunch. Bunch of bars and restaurants there and in lower Greenville near by.

either downtown FW or uptown Dallas will be lots of fun

uptown Dallas has a shitton of great restaurants and bars. stay at a cool place like Za Za or Cresant, they have a trolly in uptown and lots of shopping.

too many good food choices. downtown fw is very nice and clean too. very walkable and lots of good food and drinks as well. they have a new area called west 7th that is very trendy thats cool. plenty of options

Head to Fort Worth for a day. Plenty of great food options and things to do. Here's a few

If you're feeling BBQ I would highly recommend Woodshed Smokehouse off University. It features live bands on the weekends on their huge outdoor patio facing the Trinity River. The BBQ is superb and the beer menu offers a ton of different craft beer choices that they change out from small breweries from around America. Definitely a good time on a summer afternoon.

If you want a quick meal try the El Capitan tacos from Salsa Limon off University and West 7th street. These authentic Mexico City street style tacos are seriously the best I have had anywhere.

As far as day activities in Fort Worth go the TCU campus is worth checking out. It easy to get around can provide a few hours of entertainment seeing the architecture and everything it has to offer. Amon G. Carter is always unlocked and available for visitors to come inside to look around. While it may not be the 100k monster we are used to in Baton Rouge, I would highly recommend going to see a stadium that is in a league of its own in terms of college stadiums with pro style amenities and design.

If you're looking for something to do in Denton on an afternoon after your reunion, hit eastside social club. I was there last time I was visiting family. Like 90 craft beers on tap and another 40 or so whiskeys with a food truck park out back. Good times.

Uptown Dallas is cool

Deep Ellum and Lower Greenville are two places I like. LG has a bunch of rooftop bars and restuarants

Is Reata still around? I always enjoyed Sundance Square in Fort Worth, though its been 8 years since I last went. Good times at Petes Piano bar too, also close by. As said earlier, Joe T's is good, but the menu has like 5 things on it lol. For good BBQ go to Angelo's. Thats all I got.

If you're with your sister, Dallas will probably be better. Uptown is fun and has some good bars to go to. Hotel zaza as others have mentioned.

Uptown Dallas is where you should go if you want to party...after 10:30 or so there will be tons of people getting wild, wasted, etc. if you're into that kind of thing. You could also go to Lower Greenville or Deep Ellum, all very different vibes.

Ft. Worth is pretty low key for the most part and sort of humble. There will be a lot more people going out in Dallas.
