I fly enough to know 20 minutes is not the norm, even at big airports.

Not if you're there under a certain amount of time

100% wrong

You get charged no matter how long you are in the airport now.

It's actually slightly more expensive if you are only in the airport for 8 minutes or less.

1-8 minutes = $4
9-30 = $2
30-90 = $3

Horrible getting in and out of there if you're staying in Dallas but that pretty much describes going anywhere in DFW.

It's takes maybe 30-40 minutes on average to get from the airport to Dallas depending on where you are staying and there are two different routes you can take out of there.

other thing I forgot about DFW that beats just about any other airport

got 5 terminals now

have space set aside for 5 more right down the line, I think the Skytrain even loops around the hole for the next one

probably be 150 years before they run out of space

Keep up with that ATL and ORD

My office is off of 114 and the PGBT. Takes 10 minutes to get to DFW.

Takes me 17 min to get from my office to pretty much Hebron in north Dallas.

Unless its rush hour, def under 30 min. Hell you can take 114 > 35 to get to uptown.

as an airline pilot that has operated out of DFW and various other airports around the world for, pushing forty years, I can confirm that this is the norm

That's actually false. $2.00 minimum. The reason they do it is because it's a shortcut in the interstate system. If it weren't for that toll, then the DFW airport access would be the worst in the country.

Because of people like one of my old gf's dad who cut through the airport when driving from Plano to the Ranger games in Arlington.

yes you do, big airports have multiple runways, and they are assigned based on instrument departures that are part of their flight plans and current weather, it's a pretty smooth system normally, certain factors can disrupt it but it's a good system given the magnitude of the operation

It would be nice if the taxi duration at LGA was only 20 minutes.

fricking traffic.
