The cop's lucky this driver was a pussy. The driver could have justifiably blown this cop's brains out.

I would be, as I imagine most legit cops are for them also.

Am aggressive, trashy-looking frick coming at me, digging in his pocket...

Man, that's a recipe for disaster. If you stop the tape before he produces his shield, and assuming the guy can't back up, IDK...

The best part was that the cop was so excited to hear about the dash cam, but it was used against him to get him put on leave.

The police academy has reviewed your submission and has concluded that you are more than qualified for a career in law enforcement.

Congratulations,

This is in Medford Square, two minutes from where I used to live. Not a fan of the Medford PD by any means. This is not surprising.

What a piece of shite.

If I'm that dude, I immediately call 911 and let them know what's going on and make sure this a-hole is actually a cop.

If some a-hole jumps out of his truck wearing shorts and a wifebeater all pissed off and is reaching in his pocket, I'm getting the frick out ASAP. That could've been a lot worse had he hit the idiot fricking cop trying to get out of there, and he'd have been justified in that IMO.

and tell that so-called officer you want a SARGEANT or the WATCH COMMANDER there and lock the door and be on the phone to 911 and tell him that too.

everyone needs to memorize that

I have this news report before. It goes something like

"There was an officer involved shooting today after a plain clothed policeman was assaulted during a routine traffic stop. The officer was forced to open fire after being approached by an aggressive driver. An autopsy is pending."

After that the policeman writes whatever he wants to in his police report, and the story ends there.

Except when you memorize it, spell sergeant correctly.

Besides the cop obviously being a douche, 2 things about this video really interest me.

1. How can there be a law that it is illegal to film a cop without telling them? What was the argument for that law? "Well, the officer needs to know he is being filmed to protect him from himself. He may do illegal stuff if he doesn't realize he is being filmed."
2. Can a cop really seize a video by just saying that? I was waiting for him to reach in and take the camera, but he mentions at the end that he is seizing it for like the 5th time. If that is truly something he can do, what would happen if the civilian just destroyed the video between then and the trial? What are they going to do to him?
