Has anyone who flooded and lost their mailbox getting their mail back?

I've been to the post office about 5 times now. First, I got them to do a temporary forward to a new address. Then I went by to check if anything had been held for us. Nothing. 3rd time, they actually had about a week's worth of mail (one was a US district court jury summons ). Then nothing. So I've gone back twice just to see if anything is stuck there.

We are getting nothing at our "new" address. And nothing at my house since I fixed the mailbox over a week ago. Anyone else having these issues? All they can do there is tell me to wait and they have nothing for me. I need things like my ins denial letter, proof of flood insurance purchase, new license plate, etc.

TIA

See if you can get them to email you copies of those. That is what I did for my parents so we were not waiting on it in the mail.

I appreciate the laughs, Lucas. You're a nice retard; I don't care what your priest says.

Good call. I've called the ins twice to see what the hold up is. I've got some random Home Owners out of South Carolina and they haven't been too helpful on the phone. I feel like this is something they should have suggested if possible.

We got it worse than most, but we've also had more support than most. Apparently, my wife is a likable person and people want to help her.

Just ask them, can't hurt. Explain you need it as soon as possible so your FEMA stuff can be processed and you are not trusting the mail service at the moment. I've been handling all the stuff for my parents since they don't have internet where they are at(and have told this to insurance and FEMA). Both have been willing to work with me(FEMA had my dad sign something giving them permission to give me information).

Thanks, nurse. I'm going to call soon and see if email will work. I hope so. If we can get the Shelter in Place money and file the appeal to FEMA, we'll be done with most of the red tape. It's been as much of a struggle as the physical work.

This! You're going to have to email copies of the documents anyway. Why not skip the headache of scanning them?

Good luck. We sent FEMA the documents proving my parent's mobile home insurance did NOT include flood. Just waiting for FEMA to re-review the case.

So I feel ya, it's tough having to jump through so many hoops when you hear of others having a totally different experience with FEMA. It's been a huge source of stress to my parents as I can imagine it is for so many others right now. I hope everything comes together for you soon

FIFY: apparently your wife sucks a lot of dick and takes the BBC.

In all seriousness, the USPS loses billions of dollars a year. Are you that surprised they cannot get your mail situation figured out?

Nowhere did I say I was suprised. I was looking for any similar situations to help determine if I had any other options. Nurse came through.

The mail lady at work told me last week that they still have workers in from other states helping with the backlog. I know a few post offices are still closed from flood damage, pretty sure Denham is one of them.
