Looking for a potential neighborhood with 400K houses and up. Not seeing much except right off the interstate? I see a bunch of 200k hoods. Any other upper class neighborhoods that don't border I10.

I like the idea of a neighborhood vs some random house on a street so I am not living next to a trailer in 5 years.

I think there are some nice hoods off Bluff Road. I'm not certain that's Prairieville. Might be. There are some decent homes on Perkins from the parish line and onto the intersection with Airline.

There may be more decent ones on LA 42.

Why the hell would you want to live in prarieville if you want that? Prarieville has two types of neighborhoods, new subdivisions where all the houses look alike, the roads dead end in the back, with one single entrance/exit onto a traffic clusterf&@k hwy, or random houses along a clusterf$&k hwy or some family's personal dead end road where you can have a $300,000 home next to a meth lab.

There are no "complete neighborhoods" in prarieville. You're not going to be able to walk to grocery stores or bars or have anything next door to you but a house that looks identical to yours.

If you're flexible on vicinity, Geismar has some nice ones. My neighborhood has a few houses for sale in that range. I can get to P'ville, Gonzales and the interstate all within 5 minutes regardless of traffic.

I don't know why more ballers don't buy 10 or 20 acres up in the Felicianas somewhere and build on it. The drive isn't that bad and it's better than living in a subdivision.

Sadly this is true. Piss poor planning, or no planning at all. Should have regulated the growth, but all politicians saw was tax revenue.

Bishop Woods

That's not too far from where I live (I live in a nice subdivision, don't start y'all's shite). One day the wife and I went drive down there (we had no idea it was as bad as it is) and we found the end of the world. "3rd Ward" was spray painted everywhere we looked and I swear if someone were to go missing, I'd check there first.

Very small, narrow streets in the GA-HETTO down there and no place to turn around. We felt trapped and were honestly a little afraid. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

I'm not far from it either. But it does not bother me. I like my house and live in a nice enough subdivision. I've been there nearly 2 years and never heard of any issue from Bishop Woods.
