Dear white people. About the monuments. Why do you even care?

Did you really care about them before all of this?
Did you really even pay attention to them?
All you lily white people are doing is giving the black folks EXACTLY what they want. You are giving them affirmation that you don't like black people. That may or may not be true, but you damn well know that is how it is playing out.
So what is the deal? Are white people the parents and black people are petulant children in this story. Are the lil chirren going to try and take take take until the parent puts them back in line.
From reading this place, my description is exactly how it is going to play out.
They are statues. They mean very little to only a small amount of people.
I would tell white folks to let it go and let the blacks have this win, but the horse is out the barn on that one.
We're going to have more issues with more reactions. It is a powder keg, and any small incident could set it off.
I've got my words in with the divine on this one. Y'all try to stay safe and stay sane.

I don't really care.
I think it's stupid to tear them down (except the Liberty Place one, but I didn't even know that it existed previously) but it's not going to affect my life one bit either way.
