Dallas Rush hour and road rage cause for murder on roadway

RICHARDSON, Texas - Police are investigating what appears to be a road rage shooting along Highway 75 in Richardson.

The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday on the southbound service road between Arapaho and Belt Line roads.

Police said something happened that had two drivers jawing at each other. When they got to the red light at the Arapaho intersection they exchanged more words, then gunfire.

The victim in a silver car continued south on the service road and hit a pole at the freeway entrance. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses described the suspect’s car only as a “white vehicle.” Police said he fled the scene and remains at large.

The service road was closed in the area because of the investigation. The main lanes of the highway were also backed up because of onlooker traffic.
