I just started wearing daily disposables yesterday, it is awesome being able to throw them out at the end of the night and put in brand new ones each morning.

Questions
Can you wear them more than one day, like 2-3, not a month?

Can you use regular contact cleaning solution if you store them overnight?

Do they mess with your eyes if you sleep in them?

The only reason I ask these questions is I am on the road a lot and if I get caught without spares can I treat them like regular contacts for a few days. Wasn't sure if the materials were that much different and would cause problems if not used as prescribed.

TIA!

What is best site to order replacements from?

Lens.com looks cheaper than everyone else, but also seems a little sketchy.

This answers obviously are not scientific

I do two days sometimes, they seem to work okay. I've done three before, but I don't recommend.

Yea. But it's not really even worth it. Just toss them.

When you wake up in the morning you are going to have a ton of eye boogers if you wear them overnight

Sometimes I forget to order more in time so I will wear my last few for 2 days, but I take them out at night.

No issue.

I have had a few out of my last box split in half in my eye. NOT fun to try to hunt down the pieces and get them out.

Never had that happen with my 2 week disposables. These were not lenses I'd worn more than one day. Beware of that.

What is the reasoning behind daily disposables? They have contacts now that are supposedly safe to sleep in for days at a time. I try to take mine out at night but often forget but I get at least a month out of a pair if I take care of them. Is the price comparable? I am just trying to figure out why anyone would need a new pair every day.

I wore them for a couple years because I was having irritation issues with two week ones and the optometrist recommended them. I hated how wasteful it seemed and it was much more expensive. I switched back to two weeks using clear care overnight and have no issues since.

I've been wearing them for about 5 years now and love them. I've slept in them a few times but as above its irritating but can be done and can use for a couple of days.

I keep a weeks worth in my dop kit, a couple days in my truck console and have a box for each eye at the farm. I do not own glasses but should get a pair to let my eyes rest. I had bad protein buildup and my eyes looked like sanpaper had been dragged across them which is why I changed. I do on occasion have a ripped one and that will piss you off and hurts like hell and I've had too much wine and slept in them then put a new pair in next morning. I could spot a tumor on a lung like that.

I buy from Eye Surgery at OLOL and seems like it averages about a dollar a day. Not sure what online cost.

I have bad allergies and also spend all my free time in a barn. Tons of dust and dirt, among other things, in the air. My doctor wanted me to try them and they have helped a lot. Before the dailies I used to use the clear care cleaner. I prefer just being able to throw away my disgusting contacts every day.

Well, my son has the disposable contacts for only one eye. The other doesn't require any adjustments. He uses the disposables only for baseball practice and games, for shooting a rifle, and also for shooting his compound bow for hunting. Other than that he doesn't wear the contacts. So disposables work for him.

Why would you ever sleep with any kind of contact in?

You have never been in a bar expecting to sleep at your house and end up somewhere else?

I switched about a year ago and haven't looked back. So much better. I used to wear the 30 days that you were "allowed to sleep in" but the doctor recommended against it. I found I wasn't being deligent about taking them out out night. Now I always do. Makes no sense, but that's been my experience.

As far as more than one day, never have tried. I'm not that cheap and they are usually pretty dried out by the end of the day.

I get a 3 month supply from the eye doc at my yearly appointment and then order then other 6-9 months (sometimes I wear glasses) from 1800 contact online. I like to split the business personally.

As far as cheapest place, 1800 contacts will match any price, so just find the cheapest and then order from the most legit.

Any respectable opthamologist would not reccomend sleeping in contacts no matter the manufacturer suggests.

Price is a bit more, but worth it to me.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

The material feels much thinner so it makes sense they would wear out quicker or rip apart sometimes.

I've had to fish ripped contacts out from the bottom or side of my eyeball before, that is some sketchy shite.

I'll be tossing them out nightly to avoid any mishaps.

Different people react differently. You can probably do that once in a while.

Dunno. I use 2-week replaceable (and usually wear them about 3 weeks)
