SO has 16 and 17 year old boys. Each is active and each with young girls under the age of 17. We've been discussing how to best address the legal seriousness of both electronic pictures (if sent back and forth) and the potential repercussion of sex, period, with underage females.

The online stories of boys being arrested for and convicted of "sex crimes" scare the hell out of us. Consensual or not.

Any advice?

Tell them to bang their teachers. Now they are the victims. Problem solved.

Compile some news stories showing what happens if they do these things and explain just how crazy women are especially if you break up with them for an upgrade.

It is scary. A girl in Kenner is a a registered sex offender after she got caught with a boy eating her out. He was 15 she was 17.

Is going to lose her college scholarship over it.

When I was in High School there was sexual stuff going on and when the teacher caught you they called your parents and not the police.

Tell them to enjoy it while they can and stop when they turn 18?

The pictures thing is insanely prevalent, and a complete change- my youngest brother is less than 15 years younger than me and he was getting pics in 8th grade, I mean I did pretty well back in the day but I wasn't getting naked pictures sent to me (admittedly it's not like kids have changed, God knows what I would have doe if it was easy to send and receive pictures on your phone back when I was in HS)

Considered this and will get on it. Thanks. Mom and I sincerely worry about the other parents as well. Too often it's too hard for them to believe little Emma is screwing in cars, giving handies during the Hunger Games or while they're simply at home right under their noses. The blame almost always is on the dirty boy and not their princess.

It's a serious issue. You wouldn't imagine how many teens are on probation and/or registered as sex offenders for this.
Not sure what the laws are in your state, but educate them on that. The other parents can press charges if the age of consent it not met. In FL, 16 is the age of consent so 17 sexing 15 is illegal.
Ole Romeo and Juliet can lead a young man to registered sex offender status these days.
