This is a myth also...

That's debatable. Ultimately, what matters is your total caloric intake per day, but smaller meals do help your body digest and metabolize faster than a huge plate of pasta.

I plan to cut out simple carbs (white bread, fruit, etc) and eat only whole grains

Nothing wrong with that. Might want to read up on the Paleo Diet if this is your plan.

quote:

No carbs at all after about 3:00.

No real reason to do this, but whatever floats your boat.

quote:

Eat 4-5 times a day

There is little science that proves more meals is better. Standard 3 meals a day would work fine. You might do 3 meals and 2 snacks, which would get your "4-5" times a day and also allow you to fit it into your standard schedule better.

quote:

Try to get in a gallon of water a day.

Any reason for this? That is a lot of water and just seems like an arbitrary number you decided to meet for no reason. Drinking plenty of water is good, but you will meet a lot of your water needs through food. Just drink when you are thirsty and try to cut out the crap (booze, soft drinks, fruit juices, etc).

Your structure of small meals every two or three hours without simple carbs is a good one. Your metabolism should be on fire.

I really feel this is the best way for me. It seems it would spare me losing much muscle which is what I am trying not to do.

Because it sounds cool and lets everyone know that he works out.

This is true. My amount of water intake is not normal I just have always drank a ton of water since I was a kid. Drinking when you are thirsty is a must.

I literally posted on the first page that I was heavily on thermos while on this diet.....

Sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. 2 gals is still a bit much, but when on thermos, the more water, the better.

quote:

Also more water does not hurt. There is no way you can't sit and convince me that drinking heavy amounts of water is bad for you.

I didn't say it was bad, I just said it's unnecessary. Why go through all of the trouble of drinking so much if it's unnecessary and provides literally no benefit?

Absolutely false. Sodium and potassium levels need to be adjusted for the amount of water you drink. Also several vitamins (all of the B's and C) are water-soluble. I'm not saying drinking between 1 and 2 gallons/day is too much, but it's not as healthy for you if you don't compensate in other areas, as well.

you water in take to stay properly hydrated needs to be about an half your body weight in oz a day, so for me at now 170 i need about 90oz a day if im not even training. The intake needs to be upped on days you work out and depending how hard you work out/type of work outs. Check out this video on proper hydration

Half gallon is fine. Over a full is unnecessary.

Where's the workout board do I can read shite like this all day while in the OR.

I've just substituted more fruits and veggies into snacks and meals instead of traditional carbs. Plus a little juicing.

Have you tried Methamphetamine? I'm not sure how much teeth weigh, but it's a start.

You could also try bulimia. I heard that works for a lot of chicks who obsess about their weight.
