Current and former US Military members, here's a question.

And obviously this is hypothetical. I ask because I was riding down the road today and saw a truck of what I can assume to be a former member of the US Army because of his Army stickers and license plates. His back window was covered with other stickers of guns and rising up over the corrupt government and "come and take them."

Got me thinking that in the event of a government takeover. It would have to be done by the military. There was also a CIA agent that committed suicide recently leaving a letter saying that the government has been training their agencies to take American public into custody and putting them in camps/prisons. I get it. Tin foil, etc.

My question to current and former military, if your government called you up to be a part of a takeover, what would be your reaction and what decisions would you make concerning this situation? If promised safety for you and your family throughout something like this. What would you do?

But in all seriousness:
quote:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic

If the government asks me to take away people's constitutional rights then the government is the enemy I've sworn to protect against

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I defend the constitution at all costs. If that means fighting the military, I'm sure thousands of my brothers will join me

IF THEY CALLED ME UP, I DOUBT THEY WOULD SAY, "COLONEL, WE NEED YOU TO TAKE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC PRISONER."
If promised safety for you and your family throughout something like this. What would you do?
IN THE PROPOSED SITUATION, I DOUBT ANYONE WOULD BE SAFE.

99% of the current members would tell uncle sam to go pound sand.

The people joining up now and in the near future might be more receptive to putting their perceived oppressors in chains.

What does that have to do with defending the constitution?

Would the enlisted be allowed to go to the O-Club as an incentive?

Prior military (Army) here. I would be their resistance.

FWIW I think most military/federal agency personnel wouldn't want any part of this.
