Thought this might be for political board but will try here. Anyone live in a neighborhood with one? Happy with it? If not, what issues do you have with them.

Political subdivisions (filed bills in the legislature) where residents pay with their property tax and money is used for security patrols, better lighting, signage, etc. All the rage in BR but I believe the first one was in Lakeview in N.O. Wondering how they are working and what the satisfaction level is.

Why do I ask these questions here? IF I add some porn pics, will I get some answers?

Just moved into Westminster (70809). We have the sheriffs drive by atleast 3 times a day that I can see and I'm not home all day. Makes the wife feel safe which is good.

There are several neighborhoods in Baton Rouge that have these. The consensus in the community development field is that they are a great tool for neighborhoods that desire the extra protection but what happens when a majority of the neighborhoods have them?

Shenandoah. All I ever see them do is sit and shoot radar, and give speeding tickets, pretty fricking annoying IMO.
Don't speed, I get it. But we aren't paying them to sit there and give speeding tickets to the residents of the neighborhood, but to actually patrol the neighborhood, which I rarely ever see happening.
A week or so ago, some thugs wiped out a whole street, stealing things out of peoples cars that were unlocked.

If you are white and afraid, pay more money to the police to 'protect' you. It's a shakedown a-la the mob.

I've never had a problem in Bocage. I'm in that neighborhood frequently, and see the cop sitting in the median all the time, and have never had a problem, and I'm sure I've gone over the speed limit, or didn't stop all the way at a stop sign in front of him.
