Could you be motivated by a fat personal trainer?

I would have to ask them to do the reps with me

No.
Fat people have zero credibility.

If he knows his stuff then I don't see why not.

Negative. Nothing burns me up more at the office than some fat bitch telling me what's healthy or not so I definitely couldn't handle it when going after #gainz

Only time I have seen fat personal trainers is at Planet Fitness as the led a gaggle of geezers on a tour around the machine weights.

I definitely see some. Would it be discrimination if they weren't hired?

The fact that one needs to pay someone else to "motivate" them to get into shape is the bigger issue.

different definitions of fat, but more than likely i wouldnt hire an overweight, out of shape trainer

Guy at the office smokes a pack a day, usually has Mcdonalds breakfast, and tells me my half a cup of coffee every morning is destroying my body.
And to answer the OP, no I definitely couldn't.

most offensive and defensive lineman appear fat and out of shape... but they would absolutely know their way around a gym.

Is he trying to make me fat?

Half a pack ain't that bad.

There's a girl trainer at the gym where I go sometimes that is by no means fat, but she also isn't skinny either. I wouldn't pick her out of a line up as being the fittest person or anything. But I've seen her get after it on her own workouts and I have to say I'd respect her opinion on things if I was new to working out.
Now just a slob on a hoveround scooter drinking a big gulp yelling at me to get another rep in..... that'd be comical.

Yeah I doubt the OP is contemplating NFL players.

This question comes up regularly in regards to Charlie Weiss, Mark Mangino, Andy Reed, etc. How can a football player supposed to be at workouts, be in top physical shape for their position, and possibly be cut for lack of effort or talent when a big fat guy is the head coach.

I don't think a head coach or position coach needs to set a physical example the way a personal trainer does. There are plenty of feeble guys who are good coaches.

My favorite are all the scrawny, weak, out of shape trainers that want to tell you how it "should" be done.....but have trouble doing a real squat with 225.

About as motivated as having a fat weight loss consultant.
