Not sure I could even heist my niece's piggy bank. She watches that thing like a hawk.

Probably better that your buddy sent out like that. He wasn't meant to be in a cage.

You have a lot more than that to consider. You would be on camera, not only during the heist, but by any camera that catches you driving in and away.

On reddit some guy robbed many banks and posted about this. He never worse a disguise and never used any weapon. He just walked up and handed the lady a note card of what to do, took the cash, and walked out. He eventually turned himself in because he wanted to be a normal law abiding citizen. He said the cameras aren't really a worry as long as you don't live in or near that town. They won't find you. If I had to, I'm sure I would be able to.

You have to take precautions to leave the least amount of evidence behind.

A disguise of some sort.

Tear-away jump suit, a bike, and a large cargo van with no windows parked a few blocks away (Chevy Express or Ford Econoline).

I'm sure it's been done before, but I imagine if you don't rob the same place over and over again, keep it far away from where anyone knows you, and never actually tell anyone about it, you might get away with it.

Honestly I just don't see any of these scenarios as worth the effort....but all could make a really good movie.

I didn't think the movie was really good. Average, maybe.

Best target would be a bank in a mall. Lots of exits, lots of people to blend into a crowd.

Not sure. But one day I plan on knocking off the South of the Border restaurant between Woodville and St. Francisville. Been planning it for years. A few factors make it the perfect heist. 1) Blue haireds. It's ran by old fossil arse blue haireds. No doubt I could overpower them even if they all banded together and descended upon me at once. 2) Video poker. While the restaurant itself is probably broke as shite and living off its bygone days of yesteryear, they do have video poker in there. That requires a certain level of cash to be on hand. I'm thinking I could make off with upwards to a grand off the place. 3) Location. It's a heavily forested and hilly area located on a state line with 2 conflicting state law enforcement agency. Landmass cops- "uh, not sure if the perp is even in our state, lets gets some doughnuts and call the coonasses, it's their store". LA cops- "Roger that dispatch, we're currently conducting a month long sweep of seat belt violators, will notify Landmass". Me- on a beach in Barbados living the life of Andy Dufresne.

Next time that place gets hit im looking for you

As long as the bank isn't across the street from a diner that has the best donuts in 3 counties you're relatively safe.

Only way to distract the entire police force is to call in a bomb threat to an unspecified elementary school. Include an extortion threat if you don't get the money by a certain time. The entire police force will be sweeping the elementary schools while you rob the vault.

As a bonus you can have a complex "bomb" that's really a dud.

Anyone who replied would not be able to pull it off. Just by replying to this thread, you are giving evidence to the fbi!

I retired bank robber did an AmA on reddit. He said it was very easy. No weapons, and would do it during the day. His scores would be less than 5k. That amount would not make the news, and the banks would just write it off.

This is the most intriguing to me as they were only caught because they forgot to wash their dishes upon leaving the the place they were staying
