Cops are trying to get me to leave my house

There was a tornado today and it absolutely rocked the apartment complex next to my duplex and fricking tore it apart. Well of course there's still shite all over the place, including a piece of the roof on top of my roof.
Well, I came home from work at like 4:30 today and there was cops and emergency people still here cleaning and shite and I walked straight into my house and haven't left. About 20 minutes ago a cop came to my door asking me to leave because more inclement weather may be coming through the area tonight.
I have electricity and I have a ton of shite in here that I obviously don't want to leave, partly because I have nowhere to go. I'm a single guy and my parents live 140 miles away and I have work tomorrow. Literally no one has told me that the house is unsafe other than the cops who are saying they advise I leave.
My questions are......
A. Can the cops make me leave my house?
B. Would you leave?

Not mad at all. The cop was super cool, but the fact that they keep coming back is starting to get pretty damn annoying. I'm trying to watch LOST and they keep fricking it up.

Unless there is a public tornado shelter they can send you to, tell the dumbass cops you are safer in a storm in your house than not.
