Why get rid of the driving range and keep the course open?
I was informed the owner recently sold the course, but not the land for the driving range.
He kept the driving range with the intention of selling it separately for housing.

No range? I played a course like that once and just brought my own shag bag to the first tee. Hit about 20 or 30 warm up shots and then teed off.
a couple of butter cuts right passed the ladys tee?

Played there last month, everything was shite from the greens, to the cart girls, to the other players, just a horrible experience and not worth the semi-premium price.

This. HOA owns the course now and is losing money. Maintenance is one of the first things to go when a course starts to lose money. Hitting napkin rings before your round is fun though...

I live on the course and can answer any questions. The HOA owns the course because the developer was going to close it like 3 years ago, the driving range was kept by the developer to build houses.
The greens were messed up in December, but are coming back and they laid new sod on some of the bad spots. 2-3 greens are still rough. Everything else is in pretty good shape.
The course is not losing money, but probably does not have the maintenance budget it needs. All the new houses being built will add to that future budget though.
Drink cart seems to only run on weekends.
The grill has downsized its menu to just the basics. Hot Dogs, Burgers, chips and a full bar.
They added a foot golf course.
I still enjoy it over the other options for the $20 after 1:00 price. I played LSU last week and LSU is in way worse shape. The fairways are so hard you can't make any divots. Plus there are way too many people playing during the week.
Future goal is to have a new clubhouse, but that may be awhile. They just fixed up the current clubhouse/grill so it is not quite an embarrassment it was.

I have played there recently. In much, much better shape than a few months ago. One of the best values around. Had a fun time.

For BR, yes. Best neighborhood I lived in since being stuck in BR. Pool house, tennis courts, park for the kids, and booze cruising in the golf cart. What more can you ask for?

Copper Mill Golf Course
It is a complete goat ranch now. They ever brought in footgolf to try and save it. Avoid at all costs. Greens were unputtable.
Beaver is playing really nice right now.

Great layout. Six par 5's, 6 par 4's, and 6 par3's for par 72. Course is long. Some of the greens got a fungus from the flood and have been treated and resodded. Bunkers have too little sand. Go on GolfNow and you can probably find a discount price. Championship course not in best of shape but better than Brec.

Maybe I have low standards, but this was my experience as well. The first three greens were really bad but the rest needed some work but weren't terrible. For the price I felt like it was a decent option. If you're used to playing at the Bluffs its clearly going to be a big step down.

Good luck. People on here want a TPC experience for under $50 or "it sucks." I play it about once a month because I live in Zachary. Beaver Creek is in better condition but CM is the better layout. No clubhouse but does have a pro shop and grill.

Update: I played there yesterday and they just aerated the greens so it will take a week or two to recover from that. In fact they gave me free passes (without asking) to return because of it.

greens are in shite shape. they just poked holes in them and sanded them. played there last monday
You guys must aerate late down there... courses aerated a month ago here in NC. And yeah, I don't like putting on aerated greens.
