It's a hostel in West Asheville off Haywood.

Do I get a TD discount? May have to change my travel plans
Well I'm not saying no... For anyone interested the rooms are as low as $149 on select dates in Q1 2016. Those same rooms were sold in October for $359. You don't pay for the room though; you're paying for the experience, and the Grove Park Inn is a resort you'll never forget.

We decided we're gonna stay there
Only a couple rooms left though since it's pretty short notice
$1100 for 3 nights. We're gonna pull the trigger on it unless you've got that TD discount that YA asked about

Definitely a place I'll check out. What are the big events in Asheville for February - June? My travel dates are somewhat flexible.

Good choice. It's a classic Asheville experience.
Have your tip money ready when you arrive.

quote:They just started this Fall having it indoors. It was at 38 N. French Broad Avenue, right West of the Federal Building on Patton Avenue. It got warm inside the venue. Beer, water and soft drinks were available (the water was free). No cover, a bit of freeform yoga going on inside the circle, some (not all) was intriguing...
I've been here three and a half years now and I had no idea they had an indoor drum circle. I thought it ended in late August every year. Where do they usually have it?

The Inn at Biltmore Estates

This is like going to Chicago or New York and eating at Hard Rock Cafe. Asheville was 'Beer City' many many years before Sierra Nevada came to town. I'm sure it's nice and all but it's missing the authenticity.
No this is dumb and really not a good analogy at all. It's a spectacular facility and really something to see. It's not like it has to be an either or option, either. Definitely hit this up along with others in town. I liked Wicked Weed, their Funkatorium, Wedge, Burial, and Greenman.

Haven't been, trying to give advice on it
The place is one of the coolest breweries I've been to. If your only reason for going somewhere is it's "authenticity", then you are vastly limiting yourself on experiences. I went to all the local breweries as well. Best overall experience was at Sierra Nevada, which is why i'd go back there over the others if I had just one to go to. HOwever, seeing as the OP said he'll be there multiple days, I don't see why you don't think he can't go to multiple ones.

$1100 for three nights isn't bad. Deluxe King?

We always stay in a B&B in Asheville. The Cedar Crest Inn is very nice and all of the interior woodwork paneling and trim was done by the same man who did the Biltmore Estate.
The Beaufort Inn is also nice and is pretty cool because Charlton Heston used to lodge there as a young actor.
Waynesville is a great place for 1-2 night stay. Would recommend The Yellow House Inn if you stop there.
Mast Farm Inn in Boone is very good as well.
We never stay in hotels on trips like that so I could not recommend any but I am sure there are some nice boutique style hotels if you don't like the B&B type accommodations.

Born and raised in Asheville. I'd go to Boone.

You will love the Grove Park and the history behind it. Make sure to have dinner on the back terrace if available.

My wife and I are going in the spring and staying at a house from Airbnb in the Montford area. Never been before, but it gets great reviews.

I'd go the AirBnB/VRBO route for sure. I can usually rent an entire house for the price of a small hotel room.

Would like to stay at aloft but my company won't pay for it. I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza a couple of times. Not downtown, but they have a $5 shuttle that drops you off and picks you up near Thirsty Monk. Rates were cheap and the hotel was quiet and rooms weren't bad.
If you are into beer, Wicked Weed is the place to go. I am a hop head so it is pretty close to heaven..the Pernicious IPA (95 rating on Beer Advocate) is fabulous and their DIPA, Freak of Nature (also 95 on BA), is unreal. They have an extensive variety of beers-sours, Belgians, etc. so even if you don't like IPA it is a must stop. Good bar food as well..when I am there for work, it is my dinner stop.
Thirsty Monk is another great bar with a good selection.
Highland Brewing is not downtown but worth a visit..live music and a large indoor area..I like to go their in the summer and sit outside.
Foodwise, Salsa's is great for fresh Caribbean fusion. It is our lunch spot. I love the charcuterie plate at Chestnuts..local cheese and meat for a fair price. Usually have a 12 year old in tow so we haven't hit Admiral or Curate which I hear are great.
Asheville Pinball Museum serves beer and has old pinball machines and retro video games..I think it is $13 for all you can play.

Curate is good. So is their sister restaurant, Night Bell. Very unique experience.
