Anyone ever do this? I have a stand up shower in a bathroom that we hardly ever use and was thinking of converting into a steam room/bath. Can I do this fairly easy and inexpensive?

I used to have a steam/sauna in a bathroom at a previous house, it was a module, you might check on line at some of those and get the dimensions to see if you have the space needed

Should be easy work for a contractor. Just need air tight door/walls and a steam generator, which uses the same water lines I believe that shower did.

I am no expert though, I just have a friend that did this in Nashville and heard him talk about it.

I gotcha, google it, looks fairly simple, do you have a bench in the shower?

no but I have plenty of room to put one

Thanks Caterpillar, what kind of contractor would be able to tackle this kind of project?

I think you will need one that can do plumbing and electricity. If I recall correctly these steam generators pull a lot of amps. You probably will need a dedicated breaker run from your main panel.
