Congresswoman wants to ban Burner Phones

Will this effect OT Ballers ability to run around on their woman? More importantly, will this reall do a damn thing to stop terrorists and drug dealers. Hell, those folks run the ghetto stop and robs where most of these are sold.
Burner phones might be about to be banned in the US.
A Congresswoman has proposed that everyone buying a phone in the country would have to register with personal ID, to stop criminal activities being planned with handsets that can be bought anonymously and then thrown away.
Forcing shops to require customers to give over identification when buying cheap phones or pre-paid SIMs could be one of the most important ways that terrorists are able to communicate, according to California Congresswoman Jackie Speier, who proposed the bill.

Without burners we wouldn't have one of the best tv shows ever.

I don't have a list of every thing that would be affected but without burners we won't have as many affairs, drug deals, and bookies and that alone is enough to make me veto this

I appreciate that these people are scared shitless about something that has less of a chance of killing them than their own bathtubs, but I do wish they'd stop trying to give away our freedoms over it.

Burner phones are a great way to get a local phone number when you move somewhere new. Your Verizons and your AT&Ts don't like giving out new numbers and will charge you. Burners come with a new number that you can then transfer to a real phone at no charge.

Hey, when I had to start showing my DL every time I bought Sudafed, the meth problem went away. Didn't it? Should work the same with burner phones.

I used to work in cell phone retail. I've sold so so so so many burner prepaid phones.

I was in Walmart at 1 am a few years ago(Midnight game release) and some trailer trash were vying a computer (in cash) and several burner phones. The manager came up and told the cashier to not let them buy the burner phones.

I think they had caused issues in the past. The manager had made some comment about that. They were buying a $1500 computer with $20 dollar bills.
