Congressional Cannabis Caucus

With public support for reforming marijuana laws at an all time high, Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), Jared Polis (D-CO), and Don Young (R-AK) have formed the first-ever Congressional Cannabis Caucus to promote sensible cannabis policy reform and to ease the tension between federal and state cannabis laws.
The end of marijuana prohibition will not come overnight. In fact, the forces of prohibition remain strong and the misinformation campaign that has spanned from Reefer Madness to D.A.R.E. is deeply entrenched in the psyches of lawmakers and voters alike. But just as we have for decades, we will not be deterred...
So we should expect our LA congressmen to sign up any day now, amirite?! Fat Chance, but I'll smoke a bowl in the CCC's honor!! although I never really need a reason to smoke a bowl!

I know multiple 26-28 year olds that are earning upwards of 100k and smoke pot every evening after work to destress.
Talking about "go get a job, loser". Like successful people don't smoke pot. Give me a fricking break

I'm willing to bet that this membership will surpass the Black Caucus in the next decade.
Love the bipartisian support and this is a tremendous step.
Next, they should schedule hearings with the FDA about the schedule one status of pot.
It would be some of the most viewed CSPAN ratings in their history.
I have personally met with Polis from CO, and he is a genuine dude. One of the few who gave my organization the time of day as we spoke to him about the injustice of felony labels and mandatory minimums.

Houston is decriminalizing anything less than 4oz. Huge step in the right direction from a traditionally conservative city.

The only problem is that you can't smoke enough pot to make you forget you live in Houston.

What do you think the ratio for successful smokers to semi frick-up smokers to complete frick-up smokers are?
I'm betting the frick-ups outnumber the successful ones.....just saying.

The complete frickups are usually into worse stuff. I'd be willing to bet the majority of strictly marijuana users are functional members of society. It's probably about the same as drinking. There are those that have a scotch in bed/smoke before bed and then there are those that drink themselves into a stupor/smoke a pound of weed.
If it helps any, I don't smoke. I just don't see why something that has about the same or less harmful effects of cigarettes/alcohol is illegal compared to its legal counterparts.

Skewed comparison due to legality.
More people would smoke who aren't frick ups if there wasn't the danger of your life getting fricked.
I prefer it to drinking after work because its far less imparing than alcohol and I can smoke a joint and take my boy to the park to throw a ball around or help him with his homework
TL:DR
SMOKE WEED WU TANG

Probably right.
FWIW, I could care less about legalizing pot either way. My only hangup is being able to test and tell if someone is still under the influence or not.
The idea that your surgeon/pilot/crane operator/etc... could have been stoned out of his mind the night before is a little scary.

but you'd be ok if he went out and got shitfaced drunk?
You misunderstand.
With alcohol, you can check for BAC that shows you are under the influence.
With pot you can't tell if it has been 2 hours since smoking or a few days.
I want to be able to say....that guy is without a doubt under the influence and doesn't need to be working.
I don't think there is a definitive test for weed at this time.

So you're cool with the millions of Americans getting absolutely shite housed in front of the kids but I can't smoke a joke and walk to the park with my son?
Jesus Christ
