Can someone who is for the removal of Confederate symbols make an argument for why the Confederate Flag is evil but it's ok to continue and fly the Stars and Stripes?

It's really an honest question.
While I'm a proud Southerner and support the flag being flown in appropriate situations I also do kinda understand why some people find it offensive and think the guys flying it off the back of their pick up are generally morons.
However, there have been far more and far worse atrocities committed under the United States flag yet it is beyond reproach?
Why is this?
How do people justify this in their minds?

Because the Army of Northern Virginia was a bunch of frickboys who got their ignorant asses handed to them by the much superior Army of the Potomac. Personally I think if you want to look like an ignorant dumbass and fly the Stars and Bars you can go right along with it. Why do you want to fly the colors of a bunch of losers anyway? You're basically flying the official flag of suckage anyway. Sherman and Grant handed your ancestors their own asses on their home turf. God the Confederacy sucked.
