You can open carry with permission from the owner of the property I believe, but why give someone the advantage of knowing that you are packing?

But you should just take the CC class and get it over with. It's half a day, a few bucks, makes purchasing firearms easier, and then you don't have to worry about carrying concealed.

Someone would have to prove that you were concealing. Even then, you would still be alive so worth it.

The other scenario is you getting stopped and caught concealing without a permit when you could simply take the class and be done with it. Not sure why anyone doesn't.

No no no no, say HE was carrying and you disarmed and shot him as he continued to threaten your life.

P.S.
Be sure to get his fingerprints on the weapon

First, the answer highly depends on where you are. You do this shite in Chicago, they will probably prosecute you for illegal possession/concealment of a gun because thats the politics of the region. Do that shite in MS basically anywhere other than Hinds County, you probably wouldn't even be charged by the DA (cops may frick with you some). It's just bad optics down here for someone who has to be elected.

With that said, you could be convicted for felony concealment of a firearm, but not the use of it. Self-defense would trump any charge resulting from actually shooting someone assuming it's justified.

This is true but you will probably want to be dead after they sue your arse regardless of how right the shooting was.

At least I'll be alive.

The concealed carry isn't as big a deal as shooting the guy.

You better hope to have evidence that it is a justifiable shooting

Just pick up your spent casings, gtfo of the area and destroy the weapon. You did society a favor, but don't wait around to see if they agree.

I agree. Not sure what hoops you have to jump through in your jurisdiction but in my county it cost me 50.00 and about 4 hrs of my time.

In MS all it takes is $150 and a background check

It was 132 when I got mine, but that includes the fee to process your fingerprints which a part of the background check. Worst part is waiting at the DMV on whatever day they designate as "fingerprint" day. There's also reduced fees or no fee (I can't remember) for retired military/law enforcement.

You might be charged with carrying without a permit, but it will make no difference in the determination of whether the shooting was justified. Contrary to what some would like to believe, the CC permit is not a license to kill someone. One problem that having a CC permit will not solve is there are still many places You cannot legally carry even with a permit, and several of these places are at the top of my list for when I would most want to be armed. In LA you cannot carry at a outdoor event if a permit was required for the organization to have the event. As was asked in my CC class "how do you know if a event required a permit? If there are "porta pottys a permit was probably required , and you cannot carry there, so almost all parades, festivals, outdoor events, etc.

You do not need a permit to protect yourself.

If the shooting is justified you would only be charged with the illegal carrying of a weapon.

How many people do you guys know that open carry? I'd assume you can't open carry in private establishments, so do people that open carry just not go into restaurants and shite? Forgive me for being ignorant. I want to learn

I'm also curious about this. Obviously open carry is legal here (America, frick yeah) but I can't recall ever seeing anyone open carry anywhere in NOLA
