Anyone else notice that the Between-Roast tastes weak?

I bought a couple of the smaller bags and noticed that I had to put in much more coffee to get the same strength as before. I thought maybe it was a bad batch.

Then I bought one of the one pound bricks and found it to be the same way.

Anyone else notice?

I only drink small batch Ethiopian hand roasted, freshly ground in a French press so I can't help. Sorry.

(We only have the dark roast and breakfast blends at work. Both taste fine to me.)

(I do actually do the fresh grind Ethiopian French press thing too.)

Never had the Between-Roast. My regular buy is the Cafe Special though. Love that stuff.

After leaving La 20 years ago, I was unable to always get CC so I ended up trying different coffees. Over time, I noticed the between roast tasted weak when I would come home and drink it. I thought my tastes had changed but others have said CC doesn't taste as good as it used to. It was no contest when their main competition was Maxwell House, but perhaps the availability of better coffees over the recent years has lowered the relative quality of CC.

"Hot, black, and no pubic hair" is more my style, but I'm stealing this one.

With between roast, you do need to add more. But, my opinion is that it has a more full coffee flavor this way compared to dark roast, which is more bitter. Breakfast Blend is probably my favorite.

I think coffee is just like any other agricultural crop in that there will be variations from year to year...

I have some dark roast right now that I have to say is the best I can ever remember...can't really tell what the next purchase will taste like, though...

Its really not that bad. Its not good, but its not bad. Decent is what I'd say.

Its definitely better than average random gas station stuff. When I go into a gas station I am happy if its community and not a non-name "Arabian Blend" or some shite that tastes like I'm licking the bottom of a mop bucket.

Most local coffee is pretty weak. My preference is Lavazza and this is the only coffee I make at home.

We buy Dunkin Donuts in big bags on Amazon. For the price, I really enjoy it.

Of course there are better coffees out there, but not for that price point in a big, vacuum seal aluminum bag.

Kinda like that chick in high school everyone drooled over and you just didn't understand it
Certainly frickable just not something to hash over time and time again

It just tastes terrible to me. Folgers is cheap and is way better in taste.

Come to Jackson and have coffee at Cups and you'll want to go home and burn every CC to the ground.

Perfect analogy

My favorite coffee is from John Currence's restaurant in Oxford, MS called Big Bad Breakfast. They sell it in the restaurant, but haven't opened online sales yet.

Its frickin' fantastic:

I have had Cups maybe 100 times

My wife is from Jackson and her parents live a couple miles from a Cups. We have like 5 red Cups mugs in our house.

Its good and better than CC no doubt. I just think the word "garbage" is strong
