Colorado Skiing options in mid-April

Considering a last minute trip next weekend to CO...any insight into the quality and conditions of the slopes would be appreciated. I'd be flying into DEN and driving from there...which mountain would be ideal for a day and a half to two days skiing?

It's snowing it's arse off in Breck today

I went the last weekend of March. They've had an awesome season so there is still a ton of snow. I'd suggest either Keystone or Copper. Both are a fairly quick drive from Denver.

I'll throw Winter Park into the mix. They(along with many others) just extended their season by a few weeks and have gotten over 25' of snow this year. It was a very good time and plenty of mountain to explore.

Thanks. Is there a good site to buy lift tickets from? Or just directly from the resort?

I want to say we got ours through the resort we stayed at. Bought our stay our lift and our rentals all at one time.

I went in mid May last year and there was 5 feet of snow at Arapahoe Basin

I have the exact same plans as you . Flying Saturday morning from nola, skiing Sunday Monday at Breck, flying back Tuesday. From what I've heard from several friends, Breck has some great snow. I'm looking forward to it

A-Basin will be open at least until the end of May and often into the first week or two of June.

Copper
We had a great time in Copper this year, I would also recommend it... Will probably be a lot less crowded than Breck

Breck is always too damn crowded. Do Loveland or A-basin

Breckenridge is STILL getting dumped on. They got 7" last night (TWSS).
A-basin is relatively "close" by if you don't get decent snow while you're there.
Great deals on Lodging are out there too being this late in the season.

Quick trip for Easter is our plan out on Thursday back on Sunday.

Nice, well I can let you know how breck is if you're going to wait to buy lift tickets until next week. Looks like a chance of showers next Sat but hopefully it's snow on the mountain.

Be aware that ski season is over in most areas. This should help:

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Buttermilk, Crested Butte, Ski Cooper, Ski Granby Ranch, Telluride, Sunlight Mountain Resort, Purgatory and Wolf Creek. All will close for the season today, but most will re-open for summer activities around Memorial Day and join us again for skiing in November.
That’s the bad news about this time of year. The good news for some of us is that weekend traffic should begin to lighten up, and we still have plenty to choose from through the end of the month, particularly since areas like Copper, Winter Park and Aspen Mountain have bought us some time.
Then, come May 1, only A-Basin and Loveland will remain for daily operations (Aspen Mountain will open again the weekend of May 3-4). We have to admit that our favorite time of the year are those last late-spring early-summer days at A-Basin and Loveland, and we’re hopeful that A-Basin will make it to July 4 this
The potential for a July 4 closing at A-Basin increases with each late-season snowstorm. With an 82-inch base and a recent spate of steady snow, it’s looking pretty good, though more snow and a 100-inch base heading into May would make us feel even better about it.

I was in Beaver Creek over Mardi Gras and can't say enough good things about it. I believe they have snow in early april but not positive. Be warned, it can be rather pricey but worth it IMO.

Good time of year to ski if there is snow. Ski in jeans and a fleece.
