My son went my Fil to his save deposit box, he came back talking as any ten year old would do, told me my Fil had a sack of buffalo nickels, did a Google search and the info is all over the place. What might they be worth have seen a huge difference in prices.

He was a banker for 40 years got them through the bank. Are they garbage or worth something?

There's only a couple of dates/mint marks in the entire series of Buffalo Nickels in average circulated condition that have a great numismatic value. Most circulated Buffalo Nickels are worth $1.50 to $5.00 each.

I'm doubtful your FIL has only these key (valuable) dates, if your kid is interested, tell the youngin' to follow-up with old Greedy Gus the FIL to see about looking through the Nickels. I've given away a bunch of coins to relatives and the kids of friends just to be nice. Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars make nice presents for graduates.

EDIT: The "quality" of your writing skills only reinforce the general opinion of Alabama fans by folk from the world of literate persons.

Why the hell are you so interested in something your FIL owns? Especially with your stellar net worth? Are you hoping to cash in when he dies or are you going to try to get your hands on them sooner than that?

Bufffalo nickels are pretty cool collectibles, but they are not worth a heck of a lot.
