That's floating at 3mph, entirely possible in the Atlantic

You're in Jacksonville and you've never heard of Tybee?
That's kind of embarrassing.

Tybee is basically Savannah.

400-450 miles depending on the path you take.
Yeah that's really not plausible in 4 days.

I assume there is a reason they chose that swath.

Folks. Those boys were not near Jax Beach Marine. It's impossible.

~420 miles according to google maps. The speed of the Gulf Stream is around 6 mph.
Totally possible

Haven't been following closely...but why does the Coast Guard think they were headed to the Bahamas? Just heard it mentioned on the news. Family didn't think that was the case.

They were not floating 4.6875 MPH. IMPOSSIBLE.

In fairness, it's not exactly quantum physics or classified information.
A mixture of Google, Wikipedia and an episode of Dexter should get you up to speed on the basics about the Gulf Stream in short order.

Coast Guard from Charleston, SC just reported something about 2 ppl being spotted. He was talking so damn fast, though, it was impossible to understand the details. He just said something about spotting 2 ppl floating with the current or something like that. On this feed:

at that speed these boys would have reached Savannah in 2.9 days.
