Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith, even if it doesn't seem worth it. Like your mom did with you.

Eat shite, Bob
You know a couple of lawyers for HBO went over that segment with a fine-tooth comb.

Murray Probably considers himself a "small government conservative" even though he's asking the court system to award him damages for hurt feelings.

Murray is a cuck for believing Trump will "bring back coal" and then melting like a little bitch from a comedy segment.

Coal is a dying industry and is being supplanted by natural gas. Investors are simply more likely to invest in other energies and that is why the coal industry has went to shite.

Oliver told it like it is. As someone that lives in coal country, somebody needs to put down the delusion that coal will ever be what it once was. Unfortunately people in this very state are too stupid to know better.

There was some defamation on omitting certain facts of the case.

But Oliver plays the "journalist" or "comedy" card depending on the situation.

Automation is also being way, way undersold by this administration when it comes to coal jobs. What people used to do has become driven by robotics.

In the piece, some coal miners were saying they could mine an entire mountain side with 12 employees.

It has nothing to do with political affiliation. It's a civil suit

This is why I don't understand why people thinks Trump will "Make America Great Again".

He is a blow hard who never had to work a day in his life. He doesn't know the life of the "average American" and his mindset is business. Nothing wrong with that, but when you are running a government, chances are.. You will be making decisions based off of gaining profit (again, nothing at all wrong with this unless you are running a government).

Look at the load of bullshite that he told people just in the coal industry.

Why do we need to inflate/prop up the coal industry in lieu of actual market demand, again? Isn't that what we spent the last years criticizing Obama for with solar and wind energy?

That's a rhetorical question of course. The answer is to pander for votes in rust belt states.

Exactly! Govt isn't business. People equate him running a business to running the govt and it's not even close to the same thing. I don't want my govt to be making money or having an agenda to create jobs, because it's mostly corrupt about doing so and involves politicians lining their own pockets.

Either way, glad Oliver called that dude out and his reaction is perfect.

Yep. He has told whatever crowd he was talking to whatever they wanted to hear.

Coincidentally I was watching a NOVA documentary on energy the other day and they were showing how electricity is produced in an NYC power plant. The plant used to use coal to power the turbines but now uses natural gas because it is cleaner, cheaper, and has less maintenance. The guy they were interviewing said they have less downtime because they don't have to clean as much.

The documentary is on Netflix if anyone is interested. Three episodes, one on gems, one on metals, one on energy.
