For one reason or another I always seem to pick the slowest lane at the grocery store. For example last week I was stuck behind an older lady who was writing a check! I mean who writes checks at grocery stores these days???

Well tonight was my all time worst lane choosing experience. This ole boy paid his bill ($77.48) in COINS !!! He dumped out a box full of coins and started counting right there on the belt with a line of people behind him!! That takes balls, baws!!!

And yes my healthy selections included: coca cola, snowball, yogurt, oatmeal, juice for the kiddo, paper towels and TP !!!

4 criteria
1. Total amount of things
2. # of people
3. # of people that are old
4. Perceived competency of the cashier

Didn't you say you weighed over 300 pounds? Why are you buying regular Coke?

There's no way to prepare for that situation. You just to react. With a baseball bat

My rule of thumb is that an older Black woman will take as long as 2.5 people to check out.

I also add "how intelligent the people seem to be" to my formula. Sometimes difficult to guess based on looks, but a quick glance at their items helps as well.

I base my checkout line on how good looking the cashier is.

And will argue over the price. Once all items have been scanned will then go through each item and decide which ones to discard.

Self-checkout or ten-items-or less for me. Then again, I only buy a handful of things at a time.
