I haven't had a ton of experience renting cars. What do y'all think is the cheapest route to go? Priceline name your own price? Hotwire, kayak, etc?

Have a Costco membership? You can get Enterprise rentals pretty cheap through them I believe.

I rented a truck for 22 bucks for one day.

They hold a $200 deposit on your credit card but that falls off when you return the car.

I start with a combo of Priceline/Hotwire. You can check use those numbers to guide bidding. Depending on where you're going, your itinerary, prices, etc -- you can look into picking up a car at a non-airport facility (sometimes you can get a huge discount this way).
