Chantix... anyone used it successfully?
Posted by yankeeundercover on 4/2/15 at 5:47 pm00
Is there a way to get a script without flagging insurance companies for "tobacco use"?
I'll hang up and listen.

Have a friend who quit after a decade of smoking and many failed attempts using other methods to quit.
No clue about insurance thing.

Don't give insurance when it is filled. Pay with cash.

You can get the script filled by her no questions asked.

I quit cold turkey a month ago after 25 years of smoking at least a pack a day. It was amazingly painless. All I did was read Easy Way to Stop Smoking. I'd give that a shot before Chantix.

I did this as well, though to be fair I didn't smoke for near as long (7 years) and I didn't read a book

Someone told me about the book years ago and I disregarded the advice. Spent a few more years smoking and sucking on lozenges. Finally bought the book figuring 8 bucks was worth the gamble. I was more than a little surprised how easy quitting cold turkey was.

He died years ago of lung cancer.

Sorry for your loss.

I'm using it right now. Dreams are cool; I just started getting ill feelings when I smoke.
Day Eight -- I'd say that I have cut my consumption in half.
I have smoked a frick-ton of pot during this time, and I have been working sixty hour weeks, too.
My smoking premium is thirty dollars per month, and I am not poor.

it works really well
I had vivid dreams but no nightmares. And I never woke up naked in my neighbor's kitchen.

How serious is the "reduce alcohol intake"...?
...that might be a problem.

My brother used it and quit cold turkey after twenty years no problem. My cousin tried it and fought off suicidal thoughts for six weeks before killing himself and his fiancee. So it's got a batting average of .500.

I take it you're a very spiritual person? I won't make any rude comments but I think we go about things in different ways.
To the OP, if you're spiritual try Day Wisher's suggestion.
If you're not spiritual but still want to try a book, try Allen Carr's Easy Way for Women to Stop Smoking
If you don't want to read and can't stop cold turkey, then try Chantix, I've heard many good things about it.
