So they claim many say it, then only quote one guy the entire article. Nice.
Pretty ambiguous statement. It doesn't mean that more doesn't go to a bigger organization.
Another pretty ambiguous statement. If there is hard evidence of this, why such a large range in the estimates?
I find it interesting that no population stats are given after 2009. Is it because the numbers don't jive with the message?

"Studies have shown that with these big, lavish hunts, only 3% to 5% of the income from that hunt actually ends up for local people on the ground where the hunt happens," Flocken said.

There are much better ways to earn this kind of money -- revenue from nature tourism, where the animal's not killed, brings in three to 15 times what's brought in from these trophy hunts in Africa," he told CNN.
Another pretty ambiguous statement. If there is hard evidence of this, why such a large range in the estimates?

Trophy hunting restarted in 2009 but with close monitoring by the Oxford research team, Zimbabwean authorities and other groups to make sure its impact on the lion population was sustainable.

Wait. So you ask for links multiple times in this thread, and when someone posts one from this morning, your only answer is "I don't believe it?"
Posted on 7/29/15 at 7:14 am to LNCHBOX
you're the worst poster in this thread - all of that information that you've been tauntingly asking for was presented in a thoughtful and properly cited way and you still wont get off of your dumb, uninformed preconceived notions.
The vast majority of public opinion is against the dentist and certainly against you - why are you flailing so hard?

My answer is I'm skeptical of one guy's answer. And my criticisms are legit. Sorry that offends you.
ETA: Not to mention I asked for links showing that every last cent was wasted. Yours actually made my point for me. Thanks though.

My questions are the opposite of uninformed. They are legitimate questions that anyone would have. Why do I need to take one guys word for it? Where was it properly cited BTW?

The vast majority of the public is stupid and will have forgotten their outrage next week.

We need another white cop/black victim story

What claims have I made that aren't supported?

Just keep reading this thread. The answer is right there.

I said YOU haven't supported them. Have you posted any links in this thread to back up your claims? Or do you rely solely on anecdotal evidence?
The Oxford researchers studying these lions said that when hunting stopped, the population increased. Period.

And I'm sure there were zero other factors that contributed to that. And again, why no numbers after 2009 when hunting started. You would think if the hunting was getting the population again, they would have stopped it again.

I haven't needed to. I've questioned people that make outlandish claims. Burden of proof is on the outlandish claim, not me.

Sorry for not having faux outrage.
Posted on 7/29/15 at 7:37 am to LNCHBOX
You made a claim that killing lions saves lions. Not outlandish?
Posted on 7/29/15 at 7:38 am to FalseProphet
And there you are repeating stupid shite again. You've come full circle. Link to me saying those exact words.

I just wanted to say that I'm shocked that this has gone 40 pages.
Posted on 7/29/15 at 7:39 am to LNCHBOX
Oh, now exact quotes are enough but not when they are from a national news article!

But even if one penny goes towards conservation, killing lions is okay, right?

I don't see a problem w/ it.
