A woman is expected to be okay after her car went off the side of a downtown Austin parking garage and landed on another vehicle early Thursday morning. Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin police say the woman's car went off the garage near Sixth Street and Brazos around 8:30 a.m. July 13. APD said the woman's BMW went through the retention wires on the seventh floor of the Littlefield parking garage and hit the building across the alley as it fell, rupturing a gas line. The woman's car landed on a Chevrolet Tahoe that was driving northbound in the alley between Fifth and Sixth Streets, and police added the driver of the Tahoe is okay.

Viewers will remember that on Sept. 12, 2016, another vehicle went over the side of the same parking garage, but was suspended by a wire. That driver was able to get out safely.

Like pinball. That's a lot of shite to happen for no one to end up injured.

What a way to start your morning. Would imagine the driver of the Tahoe was scared shiteless

The driver of that Tahoe is William Burch who was in the alley waiting on some coworkers.

“I was turning around in that little service delivery area. As I was backing out towards the dumpster, I heard something, because I had my window down,” said Burch. “I was talking to my mom on speaker on my phone, and I heard all these loud noises and bangs, and I remembered what had happened about 8 months ago. So I just immediately just put it in drive and started driving forward and as I started driving forward, the car landed on me.”

Shitty part is that he possibly could have avoided it if he had not moved. Granted, I don't know how far he got.

She gets an extra 50 points for nailing the Tahoe.

Their gas pedal is too close to their brake pedal and they forget which foot is which. When they move forward instead of stopping, they panic and press the "brake" harder.

It's always a woman. This exact thing happened literally just a month or two ago in Birmingham. A nurse at Children's Hospital "got distracted by her cell phone" and hit the gas instead of the brake and went through the wall of the parking garage and fell 3 stories. She was okay.

Wish they would have released her name so people could avoid putting their children's lives in her hands.

as a rough calculation, say the car weighs 3000lbs, and assume the height is 100 feet
thats 2.47 seconds to impact

im calling BS on that persons actions

This. She was probably driving 30 mph around blind curves in the garage. Hopefully the garage has cameras and her insurance company investigates. I can't stand trashy fricks that tailgate and speed in parking garages.
