I was just informed by dealer that my battery has a 3 year/36k warranty. My car is 2.5 years and 50k with extended warranty so they won't cover battery.

I thought 3 years for a battery was 3 years?

they would have charged you for labor and prorated it anyways and you still would have paid out the arse, go to autozone.

It probably is when it's not included in the vehicle's initial warranty.

Did you miss the "36K" part?

This is where they are getting him. I've never bought a battery by itself that has a mileage limitation on it regarding the warranty. It's usually just 3 years. However, they are not going to honor it b/c it falls under the vehicles initial 3 year, 36k mile warranty

With the things that can go wrong with vehicles, if $100.00 can fix it I'm not complaining.

Definitely AutoZone over NAPA. The latter makes you take your battery out of the car and carry it to their counter for testing. Will not come out to your car to test, even if it is their battery.

Plus the one here in El-lick sold me a 12 year old battery that died after a year. NAPA replaced it, but I had to pull it out and carry it to their counter again.

Exactly. The OP is confusing the power train warranty on the car with the warranty on a standalone battery.

I don't think you understand the warranty terms. It's 3 years OR 36K. Whichever comes first.

You just go to a shitty NAPA. I work at one and we test the entire electrical system and change the battery ourselves. Don't take one store and give us all a bad name.

The NAPA I deal with are just the opposite. Go WAY out of their way to help.

Maybe so. Napa on Castle St. in Alexandria, and Napa off Soscol in Napa, CA both had the same exact method of handling. Maybe y'all should institute the same method of handling everywhere.

shite, just live in Arizona and you will always get a new battery before then. The heat in the summer out here destroys them.

Almost every NAPA store is privately owned. There really is no company policy.

The auto zone here is full of dip shits so it goes both ways. Autozone also has cheap parts that don't last, but that's just me lol

autozone's battery warranties are legit IMO especially the good batteries.

And batteries are one of the easiest things to replace on most vehicles. I had to put a new one in my wife's Van last night. It was dead so instead if jumping it off and driving it to the store I just pulled it myself and went to get a new one. Had it back in there in about 10 minutes once I got home.

I was stationed there for 8 1/2 yrs and you're right.....FWIW Florida is the same on batteries; I replace mine every 2 1/2 yrs like clockwork.
