anyone notice a drastic decline in the quality of canes chicken in recent years. the last five times ive gone ive been extremely disapointed and even disgusted. the chicken has been chewy every time not to mention noticeably smaller. im screamin f todd graves

Must be the location. The one by my house is always fresh. Chicken has definitely gotten smaller, though -- old news I know.

And they openly admit it.
Guthrie's opened in 1966 in Alabama. They had a location in Athens, GA. The found of Cane's was the manager. The Guthries were not interested in franchising outside the family, so he went home and opened Canes.
Same thing happened with Zaxby's.
Only difference being that at Guthrie's the chicken is never frozen and all sauces are made on site by the staff.
It's a better version of the same product.

The chicken market has been tough the past few years. Probably took on a different product to cut on costs and keep prices down. Chain restaurants are like airlines. Everyone wants better quality but no one will pay for it. At least not enough people would.

I decided to never go back again... In the few times I have been this year, the chicken has been terrible.
